Audioboo

Today was our final lab in ALES 204 so as a wrap-up assignment we were to create an Audioboo account, record ourselves using our laptops or cellphones and then upload the file to Audioboo.  I decided to do an interview with one of my classmates, Steph (you can view her blog by clicking here), on what a typical week looks like for each of us and how we manage the stress that comes from our week.  You can listen to the audio file of me interviewing her here.

I found this to be one of the more interesting labs, as we worked in groups and learned about a new social media tool that I had never heard of until earlier this week. I can see how Audioboo could be useful, especially in preparing field notes if my future job requires it.  I would have to upgrade my account to do that though, as the free account only lets you record for three minutes at a time.  Audioboo is definitely a very easy tool to use in uploading short sound file.

You can also link to other people much like Facebook and Twitter, or alternatively, just listen to what they have posted. You can also comment on their files and start a conversation with the owner of the file and others who listen to it, which is quite similar to Flickr which can have extensive conversations around pictures that people have posted on their account.
